Our Company’s History
In mid-2009, I realized the lack of professional, coordinated home-care agencies for the elderly and disabled in our area. We (my wife Dianne and my sister Connie Hanley, RN) began researching the industry and the need locally. We found a thriving in-home care provider in a similar area who we could learn from and get a jump-start in the business.
In early February 2010, we incorporated as Southern Comfort in Home Care, Inc. with the Alabama Secretary of State. We acquired appropriate insurance coverages, as well as a business license, and we began advertising to let the community know we are open for business. We signed our first contract to provide care on Friday, March 12, and signed the second on Monday, March 15. Our first day of client care was on Wednesday, March 17, 2010.
We are committed to succeeding as the premier in-home care provider in South Central Alabama for private pay, long-term care insurance, and military veteran clients.
